Students must take Unit I before they apply to the SC Real Estate Commission to take their tests. They can take their tests before they complete Unit II, but they must complete Unit II before their license can be activated.
Unit I: SC Real Estate Salesperson Prelicensing Curriculum
Unit I curriculum's intention is to provide a reasonably comprehensive guide to the subject matter, laws, processes, and activities that are part of the real estate profession. This course is not intended to restrict itself only to the details of the state exam PSI test but to ensure all terms and concepts are discussed in an open format in a classroom setting. This is the first step in preparing the students in the complex practice of the real estate profession in South Carolina. (60 hours of total instruction)

Unit II: Advanced Real Estate Principles
The intent of Advanced Real Estate Principles Unit II is to help the licensee become more proficient in the practice of real estate and to reinforce pertinent topics so as to protect the public when involved in a real estate transaction. To meet this objective, Modules approved for Unit II credit are written specifically for students who have completed the Unit I course. Each Unit II module contains 6 hours of skill training where students must demonstrate a clear understanding of Agency and property disclosures, contracts ethics, basic property calculations, and fair housing rules. (30 hours total of instruction)

If you wish to obtain a South Carolina Broker’s license or become a South Carolina Broker In Charge, you must have your for three consecutive years. To obtain your South Carolina Real Estate Broker's License or South Carolina Broker In Charge License, you must complete both the Broker A and Broker B course. Once you have completed these courses, you will then take the South Carolina Real Estate Brokers Exam.
